Tamara May Joins Amida Care as New Chief Operating Officer

Amida Care is excited to announce that Tamara May will be serving as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
May has extensive experience in health care operations, New York Medicaid, and the managed care sector. With a background in operational and strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and vendor and data management, she brings a multifaceted skill set to this role. Her expertise and experience highlight her deep commitment to enhancing member health outcomes.

Prior to joining Amida Care, May held several key roles, including serving on the advisory board for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and as a Health Care Instructor for the ACFE. As Vice President of Operations Delivery & Premium Revenue at EmblemHealth, she served as a member of the company’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council as well as an executive sponsor for an Employee Resource Group in support of the company’s DEI mission and execution of the Corporate DEI Strategic Plan. May holds an MBA from Old Dominion University and is a Certified Executive, Life, and Wellness Coach.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, May is deeply committed to community engagement. She has spearheaded numerous initiatives in urban communities, including mentoring programs for youth and young adults, evening tutoring programs, and the “Love My Self” program aimed at boosting confidence and self-esteem among individuals. May is a strong advocate for instilling confidence and self-esteem in people of color, reflecting her dedication to fostering empowerment and resilience in underserved communities.
