Apicha Community Center Receives Honorable Mention for ACAP Saving the Safety Net Award

Apicha Community Health Center, one of Amida Care’s provider partners, received an Honorable Mention for the 2024 Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) Supporting the Safety Net Award. Amida Care nominated Apicha for the award in recognition of the organization’s crucial work in providing high quality, equitable, whole-person, and culturally responsive care to over 5,000 patients a year.
Apicha has a long tradition of providing care for Asian American and Pacific Islanders, Latinos, African Americans and other communities of color. Its providers also specialize in serving LGBTQ+ communities, as well as people living with HIV.
The Supporting the Safety Net award is given annually to a community-based organization or individual whose work exceeds the norm in developing and implementing innovative practices to meet the medical, behavioral, or social needs of high-risk people in its service population.
